BKE conducts annual contest of young professionals’ research and technology projects. In this contest, young professionals from all Company’s branches take part. They present pieces of work with substantiated suggestions on improvement of production and management processes, this contributes to their professional growth and inspires realization of innovative projects in the Company.
As an encouragement, all of the 13 finalists of the 2008 contest were sent for apprenticeship to the Aberdeen Drilling school, UK, where they familiarized themselves with advanced drilling technologies with the purpose of subsequently applying the same in their work.
In the course of lectures, there were elucidated practically all issues of advanced drilling technologies, principles of organizational management and interaction with contractors and subcontractors, drawing up design and estimate documentation.
Out of the instructors, it stands to specifically note Arthur Dacre for his huge experience and knowledge, as well as invited lecturers from LeTourneau Technologies, National Oilwell Varco - TAM International, and Halliburton - Sperry Drilling Services, who presented modern drilling technologies and equipment manufactures by their companies.
In the course of the training, the young professionals visited manufacturing facilities of service companies: National Oilwell Varco where assembly and maintenance of top drives are conducted, and of Halliburton – where they familiarized themselves with a modular onshore/offshore rig.
The instructors noted a high level of training of the young Russian engineers and of questions asked by them.
The BKE management hopes that the knowledge acquired by the young professionals will be successfully applied by them in their future work.
